Sometime in July our county had their annual Relay for Life celebration. My family went and supported the cause, my mother in law, who reports everything for our county to the paper and the local teams. The cattlemen grilled ribeye steak sandwiches (you know you're from a small town if you've ever enjoyed one of these) and there were root beer floats being made by another group. (Before we were married, Al took me to a nearby town's celebration and offered me a ribeye sandwich and I said, no thanks. Then proceeded to finish his sandwich off. It must have been love!! They are the absolute best things ever!!) There was a silent auction where I bid and "won" two weekend kayak rentals, hence the previous post of floating down the river!Anyways, my point here is, while we were making laps around the track looking at the luminaries of victims and survivors, some young girls sold me the purple bracelet above that says Hope in support of cancer research. Casey loves it and won't let me take it off. He found one at home, on the floor I'm sure, that has a car on it and he wears his all the time!! If he doesn't see me with mine, he asks where it is and looks until he sees it. He also checks to make sure his is still on his arm. Sleeps in it and everything. Enough people had commented on his bracelet that I thought I should document this precious moment.
So if you see Casey with his bracelet on, know that Mom has hers on too and she's not too far behind...
