So, I haven't blogged in a while...
The flu has run rampant through our house. All 5 of us got one form or another of the "fun" flu this las week. I ended up being home almost all week with one sick person or another. Anyway, my funny story:
There was annother time when Emily and Carter were both quite small where we all got the flu. It was at the point that the kids were marginally better and Al and I were miserable. The kids went to Grandma's for the day while Al and I took turns at the toilet. At one point, right after Al is done. He says, "Mmm. Cake sounds good. I think I'll have a piece." Of course, you all know what happened shortly thereafter. Only Al would eat cake minutes after throwing up and enjoy it. No matter the consequences. He still enjoys a piece of cake even though...
Fast forward to a week ago. On Saturday, Al was miserably sick. Carter had a basketball tourney so Emily, Casey, and I went to watch and left Al home to suffer (get better), you get the idea. We stopped at the store on the way home and picked up stuff to make some supper. I couldn't resist the Little Debbie Valentine Hearts and sat down and ate one as soon as we got home. Carter's tournament was actually split with a two hour break in the middle. So we headed out again later.
Lo and behold, this is what I found when we got home. Cake. Al couldn't resist either. Lucky for him, this time he kept it down.
Just a funny little story I wanted to share and remember. Hopefully the flu has avoided your houses...and you can safely eat cake too!!

On a side note...
Progress is being made on our house. We've been on hold a bit; the electrician has been busy elsewhere and the heater guy has been fixing a broken down furnace and being sick, so our carpenters haven't had much to do. Then the siding came in and the heater guy showed up as did the electrician, so we are moving again.
Round 3
We're on to round 3!! Casey did throw up Friday and it ended up that Emily, Carter and I went to the hockey game. Then, come Monday, MLK jr. day, the kids had the day off from school and as I was ready to walk out the door to go to work, Carter threw up!! So, no work for me. Then Tuesday night, Emily took her turn! I haven't been feeling the best either, but I must have a stomach of steel!! So far anyway! I warned Al last night, that he was next! Hopefully not but, it seems this is a bad one!
So that's what's been going on in the Leerhoff household...How about yours?

Snippets or Hi Al I'm blogging!!
So, Saturday we drove to a nearby small town for a little basketball tourney for 3rd and 4th graders. The kids were so excited and having such fun it was a great game to watch. Carter's team even won, making it all the better!
Al and a friend have started plumbing...one way for us to save money!!The furnace is being put in as we speak, the siding is in and the electrician is supposed to stop today and wire the upstairs Monday! Whew!! I have brought home a ton of boxes from work and Emily asks me,"Mom why are you packing now?" She really has no idea, does she???
I don't put pictures of myself up very often...especially ones I tried to take myself, but I really liked this new outfit I got from my sister in law for Christmas and thought why not??!! The big mirror at work works well for this kind of thing.
Supposed to go to a hockey game tonight. Casey's first reaction was, "Hockey games are too loud!" But, as it is, he woke up in the night with a tummy hurt, so we'll see if we make it or not. The flu has really been going around! UGH!!! I sure hope it avoids my house!! We have enough other issues!!!

New Year....
So far the new year hasn't made me any more prompt at putting up entries in our lives. Sorry.
This was January 2 and I decided to take down our Christmas tree. I couldn't believe how many needles it dropped this year!!! More than any other real tree I've ever had!! Wowie!! On top of it all, my vacuum started spitting them back out at me and I had to switch to the shop vac, but we got it out and all cleaned up!! Hooray!!
And...
Yes, it is possible to get strep throat even when you've had you're tonsils out!! This was Monday, January 3, the first day back after Christmas vacation and Carter and I spent the day at the doctor's and home. Poor guy!
Otherwise, I've been dreaming of colors for my new home and realizing I have a lot more rooms to decide all at once than I'm used to...
