Father's Day Fun

My friend with the speed boat also had 3 extra kayaks that she brought out and we all kayaked on a lake nearby in the evening. It was really nice to see so much of my good friend and to spend such nice time with family.

Al's sister and family got hooked on kayaking with us on a lake Father's Day weekend and now they want their own! I tell ya, it's addicting!!

Emily and Casey and I are a team! And Carter and Al are a team! They have the "boys' boat: no girls allowed!" We now have twin Twin Otter kayaks.
Casey and Grace playing at the beach of our campground!
Emily and Nicholas found clay at the beach and decided to make a pot, which incidentally is still on our porch "drying" out.

I thought the sun was soo cool shining through the trees in our campsites. Finally after all of the rain we'd had, what a joy to see the sun!

Water Fun

We went camping the weekend of Father's Day down by Al's sister and her family. A good friend of mine that I haven't seen in quite some time also lives where we were camping. Her, her husband, and 2 girls offered to bring out their speed boat and give us all rides on their tube. We had a ball!!! The kids didn't want to ever stop!! We ended up running their boat out of gas!

My friend's little girl was soo cute and photogenic I couldn't resist!
Thumbs up meant faster and these two were thumbs up the whole way!!! (Em and her cousin Nicholas)
Carter was such a good big brother keeping his arms around Casey so that he wouldn't fall out.
Casey loved it and giggled the whole time.

On a side note: We did have several storms that weekend and we were all very tired of rain, but Saturday was a great day and we loved the boating!!

FAIR

This week has been our county fair and since Ems is in 4-H we've been working hard on last minute fair projects! Nothing like teaching my 10 year old how to procrastinate! Ha! We really had worked on and started them all ahead of time, we just left parts for the end! That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
Here she is with her firestarters and wooden shelves. She also made a rhubarb layered dessert.
Here's our Outstanding Junior!!!!! Her project Origami Bunnies would have gone to State Fair if she were old enough!! Today she is doing a working exhibit on them!! Go Emily!!
These next two are of Emily getting judged. She's seems very calm with talking to judges, etc. I'm glad she's not nervous!

This pic should have been first! Oh well. Here she is getting ready to approach the judges. We are very proud of her!!

I told Emily if she did her projects, that I would enter open class too. So I rushed around the last day and got some pictures backed and matted. I got some ribbons too. Fun!

The humidity has been hard on all the projects, but that is fair time, I guess!!

Hope you all are having fun this summer!

What we've been up to....

Suffice it to say these pics aren't in a great order, but sometimes it's hard to move them around in blogger,
So....

Last Friday it was soooo beautiful that on the spur of the moment we decided to float the river. The first time this summer! We only went for 2 hours and it was at 7:00 at night, but absolutely wonderful!!! I didn't have much of a chance to take pics on the float because I was paddling and we weren't sure exactly how long it would take and wanted to be sure and make it out before full dark. These are quick snaps before we started...

Emily wouldn't have picked this one, but I loved her smile/laugh!

The other thing we've been up to is watching Carter at ball. Casey has a little friend that he follows all over when we go. Here they are trying to climb the fence. She will lead him astray one day I'm afraid....

Trying to get lens flare, but fill flash instead. Cute, anyways.
Carter up to bat!!!
Library Program tatoo....Be Creative this summer!! What a fun theme!
Casey likes to tie things up. Here he chained his little tykes car to the camper. Inside it's anything with string....
Just crazy fun kids in the summer sun!
And this is why Al says we need a new hard drive. I take pictures of the sky too if it strikes me. And I thought the sun shining behind these clouds was cool. New hard drive here I come!!!

What have you been up to this summer so far???
