Geocaching

For my birthday last year, Al and the kids got me a handheld GPS unit so that we could go geocaching. Emily, Carter and I took a little class from Crawdaddy Outdoors last summer and were hooked! It's like one big treasure hunt. In this case, we went Easter weekend, so it was like an Easter egg hunt!
The weather was decent and I couldn't wait any longer to try it out so we loaded up some coordinates and headed out. I must say, the first one we tried to find was flooded and the last one we needed to get back home so we didn't get to finish looking. We did find one cache though! It was really exciting! We signed the log book as our first find and the kids each took a bouncy ball. We left a pencil, key chain and shell. It was fun to take a momento of our hunt, but the real fun was spending time outdoors together and the "hunt"!
We can't wait for summer! Camping and Geocaching with family and friends! What could be better?
