Carter's 1st Communion

Sunday was such a special day for our big boy!! Carter had his 1st communion! He's been looking forward to this for a long time. I think it's kind of like being kept out of a club and now he gets to join!

Funny tidbits: He got to practice on a piece of bread last week and he and his class determined it tasted like paper, no big deal. When the big day came, and we got back to our seats he was making all kinds of funny faces and trying his best to swallow the host. Al and I were trying hard not to laugh!!

Then as he was opening his gifts, his Grandma Lucille and Grandpa Paul gave him a prayer book with a little prayer card inside. He pulled it out and his Aunt Ann remarked "Oh a prayer card." Carter said, "It's a credit card?" She said, "Well, you could call it that...." *smile*

After church, there was a special breakfast for all the first communicants and then we went home and grilled. One of Carter's godparents is a good friend of mine from college. We hadn't been able to get together in a while, so she brought her 3 children for the occassion and we hung out for the afternoon having squirt gun fights, wii battles and movie watching while she and I caught up. What a nice day!

We're so very proud of our big boy! He is growing up so fast! And is such a nice young man!! We love you Carter!

So sweet Stacey! I can't believe how grown he looks. So handsome all dressed up! :)

You had asked about photo editing stuff. I use photo shop elements alot. I would love to use actions - but so far haven't found any for elements - just the full version of photo shop. It is great though!
But, for the 6 month pictures of Malachi I used http://www.picnik.com/. A great free photo editing site. For the effects in these pictures I went under the 'create' tab and then under the 'effects' I used the 'crossprocess' option. I also rounded the corners. I love this effect!
