My mind is quite scattered today...
Our town celebration is cancelled this year due to the flooding. Boo Hoo! It was the only time I really let go and not worry about too much and have fun!
I still can't flush my toilet or use water and my camper is getting full, full! But on the other hand, thank goodness for my camper! I even am able to shower.
Al worked all night in the nearby town where we work checking pumps and picking up everything people are throwing away that was damaged in the flood.
The river is expected to crest again Friday or Saturday.
My cousin Wendi at Everyday Miracles has lost her baby and had other challenges with her previous children. You can read about them HERE.
A good friend of hers has started a donation for her through a cause Wendi believes strongly in, March of Dimes. Anyone wishing to support their family and March of Dimes can do so HERE.
It's devasting to see all of the loss a flood can cause. My daughter had asked me which was worse, a tornado or a flood, Moma? I still think it is a tornado because tornadoes more often take lives along with everything else, but a flood leaves a huge mess behind and sometimes isn't covered with insurance. So you have to clean up everything and then start from scratch with nothing.
I want to do something fun with my children but am feeling "tired."
My children think I work too much. They always know which buttons to push!
My children are beautiful and full of love and hugs.
It is a nice morning, sunny and not too cold, not too hot!
I miss my husband.
I enjoyed time at the computer this a.m./I love to write and blogging gives me a chance to do more.
I wonder what the rest of the day will bring....

I am with ya!
This is all so much to soak in...no pun intented!
Some say more lives are lost in a flood than tornado.
Hope we have a great day! We are off to the pool!
Meg
Hang in there, Stace. At least all of your loved ones are okay and we all have so much to be thankful for. You'll be having fun soon. Eat more chocolate!
Amy
Sending you love, encouragement, a red beer (beer with tomato juice or bloody mary mix), some M&M's, a smile & this verse. It seems appropriate as there is so much "filling up" in your life right now...
Romans 15:13 (The Message)
Oh! May the God of green hope fill you up with joy, fill you up with peace, so that your believing lives, filled with the life-giving energy of the Holy Spirit, will brim over with hope!
I love what Beth said about "so much to soak in" - that's a new was of saying it. :)
I keep hearing the word "stuff", ever since the tornado and now all the floods and everybody's "stuff". "Did you lose any stuff?" "All their stuff out there in the dumpster and helping my family clean up all their savable "stuff"!"
Can someone make up an acronym for the letters in the word?
Seeing all of the weather related news from your area and on our national news was one thing, now that it has made it to our local news I can see it is quite a severe situation.
I think it's awesome to see how people band together in such times. It helps us see what is really important. As many have pointed out - it certainly isn't 'stuff'. :)
Here's to better days ahead.
Looking forward to hearing what the river did over the weekend. I hope it didn't crest again. What crazy weather. We had snow on Tuesday and 82 on Friday. Hang in there!
Hi Stacey- Lucille gave me you blog address. Enjoyed reading it. Seems like it's always something anymore with the weather. we're still recovering from the shock of the tornado and now flood waters at the in-laws! Hang in there- it's got to get better soon!
