This was a used couch my grandma had before she passed away and that was over 10 years ago. Then we inherited it as we were newly married and in need of a couch. You can't see all of the stains and rips because Al, Carter and Emily are strategically placed for the picture....
Here is Carter, my child who really doesn't like change, so sad because we are getting rid of the old couch and getting a NEW one!! Not excited for a NEW one, but sad for the old one because I made the mistake of saying we were probably throwing it away....
The NEW couch, all leather and I opted for the $25 extra so we could have two more recliners. And look! 4 people can sit across it! But, do you think I ever get to sit in one recliner still, even though we now have 3???
Update: Carter was so sad we got rid of the old couch, we told him he could keep the cushions if they stayed in his bedroom upstairs!!!!We took the rest of the old couch out to Al's parents burn pile, but at the time there was so much snow we couldn't make it all the way out there and Al dumped it off of the truck just behind their garage and a bin. I have to admit it does look kind of sad especially since it was my grandma's. But, we have a NEW wonderfully nice all leather couch to come home to and pictures, not to mention cushions of the old favorite. Not a bad trade off. Even for Carter, who takes his turn to sleep on it now and then!

Well I do like the new couch and it is nice to have my chair all to myself, but the big dent in the bank account really sucks!
Love LOVE the new couch!! :) Al, you are such a crack up. I'm sure the bank account did take a bit of a hit - but it's worth it isn't it?
I thought it was so funny that Carter had an attatchment to the old couch. Sweet really. :)
Yeah, yeah, but you look awfully comfy, Al! I find it really funny that our middle boys are so similar; Garrett hates change too!! Hard to buy that kid new shoes!!
HA! Alan's comment sounds exactly like something my husband would say :)
The couch is beautiful!!
we're in the market for a new couch too...where did you purchase? Any good deals out there?
According to Alan the husband...not likely! :)
Actually, Al looks real comfortable sitting on the couch.
Enjoy!

woohoo!!!
poor Carter, Russ got upset once when we changed vehicles. He love that old ugly green van.
Maybe a quilt for Carter made out of the old couch fabric could help? Sounds like a project for Grandma! :) Carter makes me laugh! Love the new coach. What a great choice!

I love that you let Carter keep the cushions :)
Nice looking piece of furniture ... I'm sure your family will have it broken-in in no time at all ... I know mine would :)
